Plagiarism in Photography

Plagiarism continues to be a major issue in club photography whether this be deliberate or by inexperienced photographers not fully understanding what is ethical and permissable in exhibitions and competitions. Christine Widdall AFIAP DPAGB BPE3, President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) has produced an excellent article that provides a clarification of this tricky area. With Christine's permission, we have made this is available from the Downloadable Documents page on this web site. Please bring this to the attention of your competition secretary and perhaps even review your own club's competition rules to ensure that they make clear what is acceptable. Plagiarism is treated seriously by the EAF and all other federations and photographic organisations - the penalties are severe, and rightly so, and they may affect a club as well as the individual concerned so be warned.

PAGB Club Print Championships 2011

Great news! Congratulations to Cambridge CC and Beyond Group who both got into the top five of the PAGB Championships at Connah’s Quay on 22nd October 2011.  Cambridge CC came 4th and Beyond Group 5th.  That is indeed something to celebrate – it is the first time the EAF has had two clubs so highly placed in that Championship.  The marking was so tight that the final positions all depended on the last set of prints to be marked.  I know the members of those club’s will be on cloud nine for some time!
