The BulletinAutumn 2010 This is our first colour edition of The Bulletin. The front cover shows the best colour print (Winter Woodland by Chris Davies ARPS DPAGB) and the best projected digital image (Rijp Fjorden by Jon Martin) from the 2011 EAF Exhibition and makes for a really striking cover. Further images from the exhibition also appear on the centre pages. As well as the usual updates from the Executive Committee about what is happening in the EAF, there is also up-to-date information on changes to lectures, judges and clubs so please note these and update your handbooks accordingly. There is also further information about forthcoming events, in particular, the Prints for All event taking place on 6th November at the The Fulbourn Centre (Townley Memorial Hall) in Fulbourn, Cambridge where we are expecting to see top class work from Anne Cassidy FRPS FIPF AFIAP, Clive Tanner FRPS, and Maragret Salisbury FRPS MFIAP FIPF APAGB. Also, our Judges officer, Paul Radden gives us a brief overview of the Judges Seminar being organised for 4th December 2011. All EAF judges are being invited to attend this event (there is no charge).
Other things of note in this edition: Our President, Malcolm Tinn, warns of the danger of losing the EAF Exhibition in its present form if nobody else is prepared to take over from John Currant when he steps down as Exhibition Secretary next year. We also welcome a new club, Suffolk Creative Photographic Group, to the EAF and details of the club and examples of their work are shown on page 14. There is a report on the The Dennis Mickleburgh Open Panel Competition held in memory of Dennis by Upminster CC on 7th May, and there is an excellent overview from the former EAF General Secretary, Stan Searle, about the basics of our system of using speakers and judges. This will be useful for new club members and new club secretaries who may not be fully aware of how his/her club interacts with the EAF.
In all, we have an excellent 24-page edition of The Bulletin. Note that the copy deadline for the next edition is 28th December 2011.
