This document covers the requirements for preparing a PDI file for entry into the Annual Exhibition and the Print Championships. It forms part of the main rules for each event and should be read in conjunction with them.
1.1 PDI Preparation
1.1.1 PDI entries shall consist of a digital image file as follows:
File Type : Standard JPEG.
Colourspace : sRGB (IEC 61966-2-1:1999).
1.2 Image Size
1.2.1 The image pixel dimensions shall fit within a boundary with a maximum horizontal dimension of 1600 pixels and a maximum vertical dimension of 1200 pixels.
1.2.2 For every image, one of the above dimensions shall be at the maximum value.
1.2.3 The second dimension may be less than the maximum but must be more than 200 pixels in the horizontal axis and 300 pixels in the vertical axis.
(The above rules are intended to allow for letterbox and square crop formats).
1.2.4 The filename is not critical but should be as close to the Image Title as is possible within the constraints of the file-naming restrictions on characters for the computer OS.
(NOTE: The Entry software will manage filenames and Title cross-referencing in the system).
